Strategic management is a powerful management tool that maritime executives and practitioners can use to succeed in a highly competitive and uncertain environment.
In this course, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of strategically managing the operations of a maritime organisation. The course focuses on strategic management and maritime economics, requires participants to evaluate and develop strategic plans, and includes a simulation exercise on strategic decision making in a commercial maritime environment. The course also aims to enhance skills in thinking and acting strategically.
Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to demonstrate how the strategic management process can be applied within the maritime industry, develop and evaluate a strategic plan for a maritime organisation, and apply strategic management concepts, principles, and procedures to a simulated maritime management situation.
